This is such a great shift. I'm running an urban campaign at the moment (the pirate city of Freeport), but I'm going to be thinking for the rest of the day how the stability of things might degrade to the point where adventure becomes a necessity, rather than a narrative expectation.

Torchbearer does a great job of this because surviving outside the town is just so godawful. You don't just take a rest and heal up, you have to make camp and pray that nothing goes bump in the night. Then whatever riches you managed to rob from the nearest dungeon is lost eking out a beggar's life in town.
